SSS Pension Table Philippines

Your SSS monthly pension depends on your Average Monthly Salary Credit (AMSC) and total Credited Years of Service (CYS). The base pension is the highest of three formulas. For example, with a ₱20,000 AMSC and 25 CYS, the base pension is about ₱10,300 per month; adding the ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance gives an illustrative monthly total of about ₱11,300. The 13th-month pension is paid separately in December.

Estimated base monthly pension by AMSC & credited years

This table shows estimated base monthly pension amounts, before the ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance, based on an assumed Regular SS Average Monthly Salary Credit (AMSC) and total Credited Years of Service (CYS). The highest of the three SSS pension formulas is used. The formulas cap the AMSC at ₱20,000, so the table stops there — the portion of your MSC above ₱20,000 (up to ₱35,000) funds the Mandatory MySSS Pension Booster (formerly WISP), a separate provident-fund benefit paid on top, not the formula pension.

Rows are assumed Regular SS AMSC values, not necessarily your latest MSC. Columns are credited years of service (CYS), which SSS determines from your contribution record — not simply years since you joined or years in which you paid. Add the ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance for the monthly total; the 13th-month pension, dependents' pensions, Pension Booster benefits and any Pension Reform Program increase are separate. Actual pension may vary based on your contribution history.

The three SSS pension formulas

SSS computes your pension using all three formulas and gives you the highest amount.

Formula 1
PHP 300 + (20% × AMSC) + (2% × AMSC × CYS over 10)

This formula rewards long tenure. The 2% bonus applies for every credited year of service beyond the first 10 years. For members with 25+ years of contributions, this formula usually yields the highest pension.

Formula 2
40% × AMSC

A simpler calculation that gives you 40% of your average monthly salary credit. This formula tends to produce the highest amount for members with shorter contribution periods but higher salary credits.

Formula 3 (Minimum Pension)
₱1,200 (10–19 CYS) or ₱2,400 (20+ CYS)

The guaranteed statutory minimum pension floor under the Social Security Act of 2018 (RA 11199). If Formulas 1 and 2 both produce a lower amount, the minimum applies: ₱1,200 per month for 10 to 19 credited years of service and ₱2,400 for 20 or more. The ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance is added on top. This statutory floor is separate from the 2025–2027 Pension Reform Program, which raises the pensions of members who are already retired.

Who it applies to

The SSS retirement pension applies to all SSS members who have reached retirement age (60 for optional retirement, 65 for technical retirement; lower ages apply to some mineworkers and racehorse jockeys) and have paid at least 120 monthly contributions before the semester of retirement. This includes:

  • Employed members — private sector employees whose employers remit SSS contributions
  • Self-employed members — freelancers, business owners, and professionals who pay their own contributions
  • Voluntary members — separated employees, overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and non-working spouses who continue contributing

120 contributions are a separate eligibility test and do not automatically equal 10 credited years of service. A member who files with fewer than 120 contributions generally qualifies for a lump-sum benefit instead, but SSS gives the option to keep paying as a voluntary member to complete 120 and qualify for a monthly pension, subject to SSS rules. Meeting these conditions does not by itself fix your pension amount.

Eligibility requirements

  • At least 120 monthly contributions paid before the semester of retirement (this is not the same as 10 credited years of service). With fewer than 120, you can keep paying as a voluntary member to complete them, subject to SSS rules
  • At least 60 years old for optional retirement (must be separated from employment or no longer self-employed), subject to SSS rules
  • At least 65 years old for technical retirement

Worked example

AMSC of ₱20,000 with 25 credited years of service (CYS)
Formula 1₱10,300/mo
Formula 2₱8,000/mo
Formula 3 (minimum)₱2,400/mo
Base pension (highest: Formula 1)₱10,300/mo
+ ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance+₱1,000/mo
Illustrative monthly total₱11,300

The base pension is the highest of the three formulas (₱10,300); adding the ₱1,000 additional benefit allowance gives ₱11,300 per month. The 13th-month pension (paid in December), dependents' pensions, Pension Booster benefits and any Pension Reform Program increase are separate and not included.
